It was my birthday this Thursday. I turned 28. Mentally, I still feel "early 20s." John and I went out to dinner at Cakes and Ale, probably one of, if not my favorite, restaurants in Atlanta. We had oysters, spicy chicken ravioli, and I had steak with baby sweet potatoes, greens, and balsamic vinegar. We had brioche donuts with squash ice cream and pumpkin brittle for dessert. That was what really took the meal from plate cleaning to having to physically restrain ourselves from picking up the bowls and plates and licking them in the middle of the restaurant. It might have been worth it.
I didn't wear this out to dinner but on my actual birthday. My Mom got me this sweater, and yes, she's pretty good at picking out clothes. Obviously, since 28 years ago this week, she gave birth to me.
