The Lonely Island

I have been so lonely without time to blog. As lonely as this tree, nearly whittled down to driftwood by the harsh sea winds of Jekyll Island, where I went with my Mom for a few days and was forced to deblogify myself as she repeatedly asked why I wanted to turn on my computer at night and check my sad blog stats instead of watching Masterpiece Theatre with her on PBS.

I am the tree. Just a shell without the Internet.
Parents just don't understand. I find that, no matter how old I get, I manage to create new generational gaps with my Mom. I spent a lot of this weekend trying to explain the concept of "real housewives" to my Mom.

So, today, I went back to work, with preschoolers and college students, where I can really feel at home again.

I really should have posed more like the tree. For effect. Are my eyes glassy enough to convey the angst?
